Job’s Tear

This is me; beneath the ray of dusk
I was hid in the lea; gone from a nest
Under a beholden eye;

The youngest, apple in the bower
And now a bond; posterity erewhiles,
Thought forlorn — I’m now at home.

“Very well then”, said He, we remember —
“Into the hand that roams the earth;
But you do not touch the man”.

Neutral only as suited,
Are crystal waters to life;
The message was not of God.

A tear looms in the inner self;
The three have just left.
